Aside from superb standards like al pastor tacos, shredded beef tortas and super fresh guacamole, Puerto Nuevo lists an impressive amount of seafood dishes befitting its name, like the mojarra frita, a whole fried tilapia with rice, French fries and salad for but $12.50; a list of 11 different lunch specials are also affordable ($7.99). Tasty red snapper tacos come recommended also, as do burritos big enough for two. Don’t let the strip-mall location startle. This place is legit. And if you are away from South County, there’s a location in Seaside.
