The Weekly food team held its inaugural $20 Throwdown Showdown at the Monterey outlet to find out who could get the most suppertime satisfaction for two people for one Andrew Jackson. The winning entry was almost too much: crunchy spring rolls ($5), a bahn mi Vietnamese sandwich ($3.50), a barbecue pork and shrimp noodle bowl ($5.50), a house milk tea ($2.50) and a fried banana tempura and green tea ice cream ($3.50). Ample evidence that, in this category, the Stix will long be in the mix.
