A: I buy tailored suits in Hong Kong. You can get an $800 suit for $200. The suits are custom made and the service is outstanding.
Follow-up: I repair my own cars. I use the Internet [to shop] extensively. I buy most of my books used. And I shop at Walmart.
ROSE AGUIRRE | Dental Assistant | Salinas
A: I got a free pack of bacon. They try to get you with a deal so you would buy more, but I just went to the store to get free bacon.
Simple Pleasures: Only buy what you need. Pay all your bills. Once in a while do something fun with your family.
MIGUEL LEPE | Winemaker | Salinas
A: I once drove to San Jose to use a coupon for cheesecake.
Bargain Speed: I try to buy knock-off brands. I go to discount stores a lot. I don’t drive over 65 mph with my Ford Explorer.
