A: Sometimes it goes into the sea, and fish, turtles and other marine life end up eating it.

The Three Rs: To reduce the amount of plastic packaging I use, reuse as much as I can and recycle everything possible.

A: It goes to Monterey Regional Waste Management District. From there, it is sorted into different types of plastics.

Go for Glass: Using a reusable glass bottle reduces my use of plastic water bottles.

A: Some of it goes to landfills, where it doesn’t degrade. Some goes into gutters, where it washes into the ocean.

Take the Time: Come to the beach and pick up trash – even the tiniest wrappers, the smallest plastic pieces and cigarette butts.
