So, by bomb, you meant to say oversized firecracker? (“A man threw a bomb near a Pacific Grove gas station last night; gets promptly arrested,” posted Dec. 12). Nathan Thompson | via Facebook
It was not a bomb in reality! It was a Fish & Game issued “seal bomb” which is a large firecracker filled with sand. It is for commercial fishermen to scare off seals and sea lions who steal caught, but not reeled-in, fish. This was intended to get fishermen to stop shooting the seals/sea lions, but it still happens. Gordon Smith | via Facebook
Throwing a cigarette also could have ignited a severe fire. Doesn’t make that American Spirit a bomb though. Tatum Tollner | via Facebook
