You know, I truly love our older citizens. My grandma passed away March 1, 2014, and she raised me up. This lady depresses me. My grandma didn’t think about her own demise – no matter how inevitable – she chose to spend her time enjoying life.

Correction:
A story about asset forfeiture (“Feds crack down on asset forfeiture process; local agencies continue business as usual,” Jan. 29-Feb. 4) misstated two figures. The Monterey County District Attorney’s office pursued 59 cases last year, not 150; and about 25 percent, not 30 percent, of those cases were uncontested.
