Concours d’LeMons
Glitz can be found in the twinkling reflection of oil spills. Glamour? There is none. “Hoopties, rust buckets and automotive oddities” are encouraged to register their heaps, for free. Spectators are urged to keep an arm’s length as to not get lockjaw, aka tetanus, from the rusted and jagged edges. Winners take home trophies in categories such as Soul-Sucking Japanese Appliance, Bad Engineering and Wretched Rejects. The d’LeMons is everything the d’Elegance is not, a car show where feather boas and fancy hats aren’t expected and winning means you are the biggest loser. And everyone loves a truly bad loser at the d’LeMons.
8am-1:30pm Saturday, Aug. 15. 1249 Canyon Del Rey Blvd., Seaside. Free. 916-207-4645, concoursdlemons.com
