The bronc rider is wearing Official Pro Rodeo Cowboy Cut jeans, the rigid variety, genuine indigo with contrasting stitching, zipper-flied and straight-legged, opening reluctantly over snazzy pointed boots – a great look, on a horse or off. His rodeo shirt with nipple pockets and broad yoke accentuating buffed shoulders has a long shirttail cut around his thighs, perfect for a long ride or lounging poolside.

The bullrider is wrapped in padded vests and faceguards – a bummer for those who like to zoom right in on the eyes of a man going down hard. His fringed Pick Up chaps are too much for daywear, whereas soft Barstow chaps with little thigh conchos hit just the right note, topped with a Stetson and Tiffany gloves...mmm, happy trails.

MotoGP Racers

The good news for motofashionistas is that most ensembles come in matching men’s and women’s versions, meaning that even people clothed head to toe in zippered polyurethane topped with giant cricket heads can identify their mates, even if not find a new one.  

In Jerez, Spain, at a big MotoGP weekend a few years ago, all through the streets and romantic outdoor cafes, couples in day-glo orange with contrasting periwinkle stripes, or muted umber and violet, or simple black and scarlet sat two by two as if in an unsuccessful breeding experiment in which species, though given the opportunity, clung to their own.
