CSU Monterey Bay pulled off the curtain on a new 9-foot-tall statue of two sea otters during a ceremony on Thursday, April 17. The bronze sculpture, titled “Otters for Life,” was created by Edward Eyth, a former Pacific Grove resident who is now based in Savannah, Georgia. Eyth visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Elkhorn Slough to study otters, and consulted with CSUMB professor Trish Sevene. The statue resides in the front plaza of the Otter Student Union.
