Monterey County Regional Fire District firefighters celebrated Earth Day with a new piece of equipment that allows them to recirculate water when training with fire hoses. Firefighters used the Direct Recirculating Apparatus Firefighting Training Sustainability (D.R.A.F.T.S.) unit on April 22 and Cal Water estimates the device will save MCRFD more than 7.4 million gallons of water every year.
