A new exhibit at the Cherry Center for the Arts in Carmel, titled Re-Aligned and spanning a range of themes and media, opens Friday, April 12 with a reception from 5-7 pm. Artists in this multimedia exhibit are: Tracey Adams, Lisa Hochstein, Claire Lerner, Will Marino, Julia Nelson-Gal, Catie O’Leary and Robynn Smith. Nelson-Gal is an abstract painter from San Francisco and the above piece of hers is called “Gone Fishing.” Bridging a range of materials and mediums, the exhibition documents how collage’s use of bits and pieces of applied materials is unique in its ability to capture physical moments of time and place. The exhibit includes created or found materials of the Central Coast, such as its colors, fonts and ephemera.
