The Center for Photographic Art presents Midwestern Nights, an exhibit showcasing three Illinois photographers—Robin Bailey, Jim Hill and Dave Jordano. Born in Detroit and based in Chicago, Jordano has been producing fine art photography since 2001, when he took photos of bridges and other industrial structures around Chicago. His other projects include portraying the Marktown neighborhood in East Chicago, Indiana, small African-American churches in Chicago, and the rural landscape of Illinois. Within the current exhibit, Jordano shows his take on surviving structures in transitional neighborhoods of Detroit. On display until Sept. 7. The gallery is located at San Carlos and 9th, Carmel. Gallery hours are 11am-4pm; closed Monday and Tuesday. [AP]
