Carly Ganley

“I moved to the West Coast after 20 years working as a civil rights photographer and paralegal,” says Carly Ganley, a photographer and painter who has a studio in Seaside (until end of May) thanks to support of the Arts Council for Monterey County. “My inspirations are Dorothea Lange, Ansel Adams and Upton Sinclair; my photos are reflections of society and the human condition.” The one above comes from her 2025 Post CoVid Series. “I close my eyes to feel the colors,” she says. “I photograph a place over the years and find it becomes my friend. It is a guardianship relationship. I just try to be a good steward through my art.”
