Pacific Grove Public Library has a new exhibit, Pacific Grove at 150: Images from the Founding Years from the Pat Hathaway Collection. Pat Hathaway was the Monterey Peninsula’s chronicler of California history. In addition to being a prolific photographer himself, he built one of the largest privately held collections of historical images related to Monterey County, dating back to the mid-1800s. His entire collection—comprising more than 80,000 historic and 470,000 original photographs—was donated to the Monterey County Historical Society. The exhibit includes works like the one above by C.K. Tuttle, an early druggist in Pacific Grove. The opening reception is 5-7pm Friday, Oct. 3. The library is located at 550 Central Ave. in Pacific Grove and is open 2-6pm Mondays, 10am-6pm Tuesdays-Thursdays and 10am-5pm Fridays-Saturdays. On display until Jan. 3.
