After Davis (Jake Gyllenhaal) loses his wife in a car accident, a stranger (Naomi Watts) who works in vending machine customer service helps him move on. Davis is so numb that he doesn’t feel anything, which has the ironic byproduct of the audience not feeling anything either. You’ll want to emotionally invest, but won’t be able to. Rated R.
