Klaas Act is the title of a new exhibit at Monterey History and Art at Stanton Center. See the diverse and captivating works of local artist Tony Klaas. From his early influences in the theater to encounters with iconic figures like Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso, Klaas’ journey is reflected in his ever-evolving art. Explore his distinct styles over the decades, from surrealism to landscape realism, all bound by his belief in the transformative power of color. Longtime San Francisco resident and celebrated muralist Klaas moved to Carmel in 2011; his gallery is located in Carmel Rancho in Carmel Valley. In addition to murals, Klass does oil and acrylic paintings, drawings, etchings and unique stained glass in vibrant colors. [AP]
