A new cafe with freshly painted walls is an invitation for color, and Los Angeles-based, Monterey-raised designer/artist Victoria Stöcker is seizing the opportunity with a new exhibit, Silver Linings, that will be on display at Six Over Coffee Co. for the month of June. The work is a combination of screen prints, colored pencil/gouache illustrations – mostly roses – and the common theme throughout is a metallic element (hence the title, silver linings). The opening, free to attend, is also an interactive art party. Chris Powers, the force behind The Underground Forrest, will be making live screenprints of a graphic featured in the show and Silverstein’s Delicatessen sets up a food pop-up. The opening takes place from 3:30-7pm Friday, May 29 at Six Over Coffee Co., at 160 Webster St., Monterey.
