An exhibit at the Pacific Grove Public Library (550 Central Ave., P.G.), Texture: Proof of Presence, centers on the experiences of three local artists and a local poet. Their work is imbued with various humanistic and social messages, however, each artist uses texture in assertive ways that it becomes one of their work’s most attractive and important features. The exhibition, curated by Gail Enns and Christine Crozier, is designed to promote cultural understanding, community engagement and creativity. Workshops, poetry readings and lectures by the artists and curators are meant to enhance an understanding of the art presented – such as a talk about fast fashion by Jaki Canterbury at 5:30pm on Friday, Nov. 15 (see Hot Pick). On display until Jan. 4.
