The Temple Garage (542 Ortiz Ave., Studio 5, Sand City) is joining in the spirit of election season with On Being Blue, an exhibition showcasing art by the Temple Sisters (Holly and Ashlee Temple) over the past 10 years. Featured work focuses on democracy, feminism and other social and political issues that have long been elements of their work. “While living in a political climate that is often overwhelming, creating and experiencing art is one way we cope with the anxiety of our times,” Holly says. “Art offers a path to processing the trials of today and turns them into something tangible, something that can inspire others to keep fighting.” They are giving 20 percent of proceeds from sales of their art to Democratic candidates. The exhibit closes Nov. 6, the day after Election Day.
