Cooper-Molera Adobe asked the artists of the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association to create their rendition of Cooper-Molera Adobe in downtown Monterey. Over 20 artists produced more than 40 paintings which are now installed in the Skylight Room of the Cooper Adobe Museum, part of the Cooper-Molera complex and is open for viewing 10am-2pm each Friday and Saturday. One of the artists is Murray Wagnon. Based in San Jose, Wagnon learned plein air painting by observing the nature of the Central Coast and inspired by the tradition of the regional art, from Big Sur to Sausalito. He is also a former president of the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association. The exhibit is titled Open Air, Timeless Views: Plein Air Paintings of Cooper-Molera Adobe. It will run until Aug. 31.
