Manuello Paganelli

Self-taught photographer Manuello Paganelli is showing his works at the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts (at 4th Avenue and Guadalupe Street, Carmel). He got interested in photography in college and, as an admirer of Ansel Adams, Paganelli cold-called him. Adams became his mentor until the master’s death in 1984. In the late 1980s, Cuban-Italian Paganelli was one of the few U.S. photographers allowed to visit Cuba, bringing back fascinating photographs. A walkthrough with the photographer takes place 2-3pm Saturday, April 12. This dynamic exhibit provides new perspectives into Paganelli’s expansive body of work by exploring six distinct geographic regions, bringing together narratives from 40 years of his work. On display until April 26, with gallery hours 11am-4pm Monday-Friday.
