Artists Howard Perkins and Wilda Northrop present a collection of still lifes in their co-exhibition Objets d’Art at the Carmel Art Association gallery, at Dolores and 5th, Carmel (open daily 10am-5pm). Utilizing a strong spotlight and painting in acrylic with bold brushstrokes, Perkins captures the strong shadows and unexpected colors reflected in metal objects, such as teapots, jars and paintbrushes. A reception for this and three other new CAA exhibits takes place from 4-7pm on Saturday, July 12. On display until Aug. 4.
