“Red Bowl & Blue Vase” by Carmel Valley colorist Fred Carvell is part of the Carmel Art Association’s annual All Members Show. Happy landscapes and still life are Carvell’s speciality. He refers to his work as contemporary semi-abstract images of the land, inspired by scenes he finds on the Central Coast and in Mediterranean countries. Using acrylic paint on acid-free paper, Carvell melds bright primary colors with luminous earth tones to create warm, harmonious landscapes and abstract images. The exhibit features a range of styles and inspirations from CAA’s 80-plus members. Viewable until Feb. 2 at CAA, located on Dolores Street between 5th and 6th, Carmel. Open daily from 10am-5pm.
