Sol Treasures (at 519 Broadway St., King City) is hosting a “humble yet deeply moving” gallery exhibit centered on the immigration story of Sonia Chapa, who arrived at the Little Waco Labor Camp in San Lucas 56 years ago. From those beginnings, Chapa built a life rooted in service and leadership, and was recently honored with the Nonprofit Alliance’s Lifetime Achievement Award. This exhibit is not only about Chapa’s remarkable journey – it’s also a collaboration with four photographers who bring unique perspectives and talents to the visual storytelling: Barbara Ramos, currently on a national tour for her acclaimed book, A Fearless Eye, recently featured in The New York Times Book Review; Joe Ramos, whose work has been exhibited at the Monterey Museum of Art; Ignacio Fernandez, known for documentary-style photography; and Jude Yriarte. On display until June 29, noon-5pm Tuesday-Friday.
