The chief nursing officer for Natividad Medical Center, Nancy Buscher, will be taking over as interim CEO on July 2, the County of Monterey announced on Friday, June 26.
Buscher was appointed by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors to take over after the departure of Dr. Chad Harris, who is set to become the new leader at Santa Clara Valley Healthcare.
She has served as chief nursing officer since 2015, having served at Natividad since 2013. She has provided executive leadership for Patient Care Services, overseeing clinical operations across inpatient, emergency, surgical, rehabilitation, behavioral health and outpatient services.
"Nancy is a respected and experienced healthcare leader who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Natividad's mission, our patients, and our employees," County Administrative Officer Sonia De La Rosa said. "Her leadership and deep understanding of the organization will help ensure continuity as we move through this leadership transition."
Buscher will serve as CEO as the County conducts a search for the next permanent leader.
