The Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program enjoys global reach.
But its principals insist, rightly so, that the heart of its program is right here.
October marks Sustainable Seafood Month, and furnishes a great excuse to honor the restaurant partners who always source their fish consciously.
It also means the annual Fiesta Del Mar at the Aquarium, which involves free admission for all 12 and under and some intriguing Latin America-leaning cooking demos and bilingual programming, and visits from rising Mexican chefs like Ruffo Ibarra. (Click to read more with "Ruffo Ibarra riffs on Mexico, America and seafood ahead of Fiesta del Mar appearance at the Aquarium.")
The current list appears here, followed by Aquarium Executive Chef Matt Beaudin breaking down a fun and functional fish taco preparation.
