East of Eden, the folks at Scheid have established Eden – in the form of an environmentally‑friendly, sustainable vineyard and winery, with a tasting room attached. Closer to the coast (just a few blocks from it, in fact) is another version of Eden: Scheid’s Carmel tasting room. What does paradise entail? In Carmel it means fine wines and windows on the people‑watching sidewalks. In South County, it takes the form of fine wines in rolling fields.
