A nice place to enjoy the sunset on the coast and taste fresh, local seafood and produce, Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette provides a level of elegance and quality unique in the city of Marina. “We are very farm-to-table,” says Jonathan Macioce, general manager at Sanctuary Beach Resort, where the restaurant is located. A signature dish, the heirloom tomato bisque, is “absolutely incredible, with no cream – just emulsified heirloom tomatoes,” Macioce says. The restaurant’s dishes are inspired by both the sea and the Salad Bowl that is the Salinas Valley, prepared using traditional wood-fired cooking methods. The cocktails use house-made syrups infused with fresh and local herbs. Yum.
