The famed Forge In The Forest Skillet Cookie has chocolate in it, which is a big no-no for dogs, but man’s best friend is more than welcome to join the family on Carmel’s largest outdoor patio for dining. Equally popular among locals and tourists, “the Forge” was frequented by writers Henry Miller and John Steinbeck; legend has it that the idea for Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath was born here. The Forge has room for parties big and small, so elbow up at the bar or bring the whole pack.
