Star Market is so low-key, it’s not really the kind of place to see and be seen. Yet there they are – KSBW anchor Dan Green checking out the yogurt section on a Thursday night. Leon Panetta perusing the olive oil the day before Thanksgiving. It’s the power broker’s grocery store, sure, but it’s also the place where just regular folks go for the best service in town (along with a vast wine section, curated by managing partner Victor Kong); or a special cut of beef for a holiday dinner (curated by managing partner Art Kong), plus a massive cheese selection, super-fresh produce, grocery guys who will get you anything you ask for and a crackerjack checker staff.
