The selection of organic produce at Monterey’s Whole Foods is vast and otherworldly. There are golf ball-sized ruby tango mandarins with green tassels of stems and leaves. There’s a spectrum of different colored heirloom tomatoes and a cluster of oyster mushrooms that resemble a chunk of a coral reef. And there are romanesco florets that look so intricate that only an artist on psychedelics could’ve come up with them. Now that’s “Lost in the Supermarket.” Wander around Whole Foods’ produce section and have your mind blown.
