Benson’s ethos harkens back to another time, melding old-school service and attention to detail. Benson and his staff simply know how to make customers look good, whether it’s with a side fade, straight razor beard shave or just a little off the top. More than just a service joint, Phill’s has become a community hub, too. Benson always opens his shop for the monthly First Friday Pacific Grove arts and entertainment event, where he trades scissors for an electric guitar and jams out the blues.
