Yi’s Korean BBQ is a prime example, tucked away in the Forest Hill Shopping Center and a common fixture at local events and festivals. Peek into the bustling kitchen and you’ll spot owner Chong Ku Yi hard at work preparing Korean specialties like noodle stir fries, rice bowls and charred meats. Sorta makes you hungry like the wolf. Yi’s offers more than Korean cuisine too – Hawaiian favorites like Spam musubi and loco moco are locals’ picks too. (Just remember, Yi’s is closed on weekends.)
