Since 2011, Dennis Murphy’s School of Music – offering master classes, summer camps and private instruction – has been a go-to resource for many young musicians who go on to start their own local bands. Murphy also navigates Express Yourself, Inc., which provides funding for individual lessons as well as group programs for at-risk youth. Somehow, the multi-instrumental bassist has managed to appear on over 30 records, including Acoustic Alchemy’s Arcanum, which scored a Grammy nod. Murphy is a musical chameleon with the ability to move from smooth jazz originals to spot-on Bobby Darin and Sinatra covers.
