An interesting thing happens at a modest little bar in Carmel every weekend. An astronaut takes to the wheels of steel and a full-on full moon party beams itself aboard. That shouldn’t be happening, given the grief the Klingons from Carmel Residents Association supply, or the tiny space allowed by the eensy square footage or the fact that there are far bigger hotspots around the Peninsula. But it does, defying lunar laws of physics and reason alike with both mezcal and mad DJ mixes by one Hanif Wondir, who may or may not be wearing a custom-fitted space suit. This is one of the most fun bars in the area, but especially for those who haven’t just literally turned 21 (try Alvarado Street Brewery for that scene). It’s great for GenXers down for a good time who still want to feel a little classy. But only a little.
