Someone, in the distant past, had a great idea: What if we sliced the bread before we put it in the bag? And someone, in the not-so-distant past, had an even better idea: What if we took all the stuff that might normally go to waste, shredded it and put it in the bag with dressing and crunchy stuff like croutons, and made everyone’s lives that much easier with salad-on-the-go? Not sure who the bread dude was, but the salad dude (and dudettes) is Taylor Farms, headed by Bruce “Lettuce Jesus” Taylor. Taylor Farms is the big daddy not only of Salinas ag, but American ag, with its stir-fry kits, salad kits, power greens and classic vegetables. And their gorgeous headquarters is at the forefront of the Oldtown Salinas renaissance now happening. Eat up, buttercup.
