More than 30 million pounds: That’s how much sustenance the Food Bank for Monterey County has provided since an arsonist torched its current spot on West Market in 2015. Fifty thousand square feet: That’s the size of the Food Bank’s new facility on West Rossi, opening this summer. That this resilient nonprofit has managed to keep feeding over 20 percent of the county’s residents while working out of a much-too-tiny space and fundraising for the new building is nothing short of astronomical.
