Yi’s Korean BBQ, Thai and Hawaiian
1184 Forest Ave., Pacific Grove | (831) 658-0134
Technically, this Pagrovian establishment is a fusion restaurant. They have things like pad Thai, orange sesame chicken and loco moco. But the main draw is the things they’re doing to fundamental Korean staples like Napa cabbage kimchi bulgogi. Yes, there are traditional items like bibimbap, the clay pot rice dish chock full of kimchi, veggies and starring tofu or meat and topped with a fried egg. Then there’s the bulgogi sandwiches and sushi rolls, starring the all important savory sweet grilled meat, between two slices of bread or wrapped in nori seaweed, respectively. It’s a good entry point to getting addicted to Korean barbecue.
