Tricycle Pizza

In 2012, Danica Alvarado turned the simple idea of creating delicious, fresh, wood-fired pizza on the go into a reality with her creation of a mobile-wood-fired oven. Tricycle (named after their first oven that was mounted on a three-wheel trailer) became a staple of the local farmers markets. After four years of mobility, Alvarado decided that it was time to set up shop at a permanent spot in Monterey. The location and layout of the place is as unique as the pizza. The restaurant and patio is both kid and dog-friendly and consists of refreshing decor and fun games and activities for kids. The heart of the business relies on the gigantic food truck parked outside that contains the wood-fired oven designed to crank out the delicious 10-inch pizzas like the chicken pesto and sausage-mushroom, all made from local and organic ingredients.
