It’s insane, you’re thinking, that a donut shop sells eggrolls. But the eggroll at Salinas Donuts in the old Greyhound Bus Station in Oldtown Salinas is no ordinary Chinese-American treat. A shatteringly crisp and brown shell cracks open to reveal a mass of tender savory cabbage, carrot, bean threads and pork, served with neon orange sweet-and-sour sauce in packets on the side. A couple of rolls will only set you back a couple of bucks and you’ve got a great grab-and-go treat.
