Sure, it seems oxymoronic to put “best” and “fast food” in the same sentence and, yes, it would be nice to see mom-and-pops and a walkable downtown instead, but it’s still nice to see some long-empty portions of the former Fort Ord come to life. First came the movie theater in October 2015, and a batch of eateries followed a year later: Blaze Pizza, Smashburger and Teriyaki Madness are roaring away and a handful more spots are in the pipeline. It’s great news for hungry moviegoers who need to eat in a pinch before a movie starts, or shoppers exhausted by navigating Target and the massive parking lot.
