When the Osio Cinemas shut down in 2015, puppies, kitties and humans everywhere in the county shed tears for their favorite independent movie theater. But a change of ownership, management, popcorn flavors and the addition of local beers and alcoholic slushies put the theater back on the map. However, it’s the variety of indie movies on rotation—from Sundance films like Hunt for the Wilderpeople to Werner Herzog creations like Lo and Behold to hard-hitting social commentaries like I Am Not Your Negro—that are still the main draw at this little theater-that-could.
