Dr. Peter Franklin

Many people don’t enjoy going to the doctor, but Dr. Peter Franklin is trying to change that. His mission statement is, “Treat every patient the way you want your Mom treated,” and according to his patients, he lives up to it. When a patient comes in on their birthday, he plays “Happy Birthday” on his ukelele. How many other doctors do that? Franklin got his M.D. from Howard College of Medicine and is a member of the Monterey Medical Association. He is also a certified dive physician, and serves as the dive physician for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. When he’s not helping patients, he’s working with Breakthrough Men’s Community, helping men learn skills to overcome painful or unpleasant aspects of their lives.
