Tucked behind a Jack in the Box in a strip mall, Roger’s Liquors has the kind of impressive craft beer selection to inspire a pilgrimage - we’re talking aisles and aisles of 750 kinds of beer from 500 brewing companies. California’s craft beer movement is well represented here, as are Old World breweries, which take up the Belgian and German beer section. This is the place to impress beer geek pals by picking up a sixer of Iceland’s Einstok Beer, brew from Southern California’s Cismontane Brewing Company, or a giant, 101-ounce bottle of Arrogant Bastard’s Double Bastard Ale. While they carry the latest brews (porters brewed with peppers, sour beers, San Diego IPAs, etc.), Roger’s always makes room on their shelves for some six packs of Weihenstephaner, beer brewed by the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world.
