Red Beans & Rice
The year was 1993. Bill Clinton was President of the United States, Ty Warner USA launched the first Beanie Babies and Intel introduced the Pentium Processor. Also, a former employee of Kinko’s named Gil Rubio formed the multi-genre band Red Beans & Rice. Twenty-three years later, RB&R has become the unofficial official band of Monterey County. Rubio (guitar and vocals) along with Jon Gorman (vocals), John Tindel (keys), Thomas McNamara (bass), Karl Stearns (drums) and Tamas Marius (sax) have no plans of retirement…ever.
