Most everyone knows the origin story of this organic superhero operation: Hip young couple Drew and Myra Goodman emigrated to Carmel Valley in the ’80s and launched a raspberry farm on a little patch of land. Two years later, they became the first company to pre-wash and bag salad greens. And three decades later, they’ve become the largest organic produce grower in the country. In this case, bigger really is better. As Myra Goodman put it in a food-centric, TEDxManhattan talk, “Every organic farm, from the tiniest local grower to the largest operations…is an essential part of the healthy food revolution.” That’s the mindset that Earthbound started with, and that’s the one that keeps it going.
