Formerly Amir’s Kabob House, chef and owner Mukhtar Amir, a Monterey High and CSU Monterey Bay graduate, specializes in the world of kabobs and Afghan cuisine. If you visit his establishment and are not a fan of lamb then you may be one of the black sheep. Not to fear, Amir is a food wizard who can help patrons become lovers of young sheep with just a single bite of his magical lamb kabobs or tikka lamb which are prepped in an overnight meat marinade of pureed garlic, onions and seasonings, a secret family recipe. If lamb still doesn’t entice you, maybe a drink from their new full bar will – and the belly dancers that shake their hips every second and fourth Friday of the month from 6:30 to 7:30pm can’t hurt.
