Twenty-five-year-old Casey Frazier has already penned more than 150 original tunes, but it was only recently, since moving back to the Central Coast for a new start, that he’s felt confident about his songwriting. His 2013 record Regal – a flood of Americana roots-meets-clean-cut folk rock and self-discovery – unfolds through imagery of vast blue skies and great expanses of uninhabited land in the Old West. “There’s something about that lonesome cowboy, wide open feeling that draws people in,” Frazier says. Born in Kansas City, Frazier’s lived all over the country – including Denver and Nashville – but will always consider Carmel Valley home. He performs at 7pm every Friday and Saturday at Jack London’s in Carmel.
