This is not just about snuggling with abandoned and injured kittens and puppies in need of a little TLC. SPCA also takes in farm animals and wildlife, from chickens, ducks, horses, raptors and fawns, to beavers and bunnies. Volunteers receive extensive training, becoming an educated and integral part of the animal care team that supplies the thousands of hours it takes to keep these critters happy. Baby birds are particularly demanding – these cuties need to be fed every five to 20 minutes, and March is just the beginning of baby bird season.
