Golden Staircase Hike

If you thought idyllic Molera beach with its prime surf break and adjacent rocky overlook was everything you needed in a coastal state park, you’d be right – unless you’re looking to break a serious sweat. There’s the well-known climb to Panorama Point, but if you want some serious elevation gain, you’ve got to try the less-traveled east side of the park at the aptly named Golden Staircase. This trail climbs high, with a scenic reward on the upper ridge, which levels off for a mellower walk, more treat than workout.
